    San Francisco 49ers

Expectations were extremely high for the 2013 San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers were excited and very motivated to have a successful season. Week 1 regular season opponent the Green Bay Packers came to "the stick" 49ers looked good early jumping to a 14-0 lead on the Packers. The defense was playing well then Aaron Rodgers caught fire. He led the Packers to a 31-21 come from behind victory. 49ers defense was non existent in the 2nd half. Week 2 the much "hated" Seahawks were on the schedule at 0-1 the 9ers went into Qwest field trying to defeat their division rival. 49ers took an early lead but they had to settle for field goals not TDs and the Seahawks blasted the 49ers 41-13, dropping the 49ers to 0-2. Week 3 the Indianapolis Colts came to visit the 49ers. 49ers took the early lead and the Colts jumped out to a lead the 49ers battled back to tie the score only to see the Colts leave SF with a 31-24 well earned victory dropping the 49ers to 0-3. What is going on here? This team was supposed to make noise in the NFC West, they were confident and ready to make a run for the playoffs in the rough and tumble NFC. The schedule is "rough" but the 49ers have the talent to overcome any schedule. At 0-3 this group of 49ers was losing confidence something needed to happen to "wake" them up. Week 4 the 49ers were staring down the barrel of an 0-4 start playing against the undefeated St. Louis Rams and much ballyhooed offensive genius Daniel Knugs the man who layed 72 on some sorry squad. 49ers came out and took it too the Rams defense. Frank Gore had a great game and Colin Kaepernick was efficient. The 49ers defense made just enough plays to hold onto a hard faught 37-31 win at St. Louis improving their record to 1-3 and possibly saving their season. The Houston Texans were up next for the 49ers, Boseefus the defensive minded leader of the Texans had the 49ers concerned. Frank Gore and the 49ers offensive line were playing possessed Gore gained 172 yards including a 72 yard TD in the 1st half the Niners led 28-10 at the half. The 49ers gave the key to the offense to rookie QB BJ Daniels in the 2nd half he played well and fellow rookie HB Marcus Lattimore rushed for 82 yards and the 49ers defeated a very good Texans team 34-17 to improve to 2-3 on the season. The 49ers have a very difficult opponent in week 6 the Arizona Cardinals led by another defensive genius sunshine. This should be an interesting game. Kaepernick needs to stay focused and not force the issue against the Cardinals defensive backs. If Kaepernick and the offense can limit their turnovers and force the Cardinals offense into some mistakes the 49ers have a chance to knock off the Cardinals if 49ers turn it over the season could be over for the 49ers a loss drops them to 2-4 and in the NFC out of the playoff hunt. A win will tie them with the Cardinals at 3-3 and will keep up the momentum, should be interesting stay tuned.
