Welcome back Saints fans! In this weeks episode we recap game 1 vs the Giants, talk about week 2, and look forward to week 3.
Last Week Results:
Giants - 37 Saints - 34
The Saints late game rally comes up short once again. It was a back and forth game, very exciting to watch. The Saints were able to continue their success through the air as they amassed 416 yards. QB - E.Pongi finished 17/35 with 452 yards 4 TD's and 3 INT's. He added 6 yards on the ground on a designed qb run. Pongi's new weapon in CJjr had a great debut in a losing effort, finishing with 6 receptions 162 yards and 1 TD. He had a team high 6 catches and made the most of his opportunities. Patrick Peterson was the primary CB assigned to Calvin, and although the stats look like CJ had the advantage, it was PP who challenged CJjr for a jump ball and came away as the winner.
The Saints were able to move the ball well each drive but came up short on a couple instances. They settled for fg's when they should have finished with 6 at least 2 times. It was a great 3rd quarter surge from the Giants that ultimately pushed this game out of reach. WR's Julio Jones and Victor Cruz both had monster games, Cruz finishing with 3 TD's. The Giants just have the Saints number and it seems like coach Ross will have to come up with another gameplan if he wants to be victorious against the G-men.
Next up for the Saints are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, division rival and former TE - Jimmy Graham's new team.
