Marvin Krunch's story is the all to common rags to riches story of an aggressive, yet marvelously talented inner city youth plucked from his neighborhood to play halfway across the country at a top prep school. Stereotypical until Krunch flipped the script on his would be "saviors."
Krunch chose to leave behind the spoils provided by his foster parents to play for a rival school in a part of town more fitting to his hard knock upbringing. Brushes with gang members nearly ended his high school football career with a near expulsion, but Marvin convinced the school board to give him one more chance. Krunch turned that chance into back to back city championships and serious looks from several top college programs.
The nasty linebacker surprised few with his decision to roll with the Tide; however, his first year looked like a bust for Bama. With prototypical skills and a body to match, Krunch didn't take long to prove his worth as a Sophomore. He led the team in tackles and was 2nd in both INTs and sacks for the Tide.
Despite his natural athleticism, Crunch hasn't shown great durability. He'll miss the better part of this season with a high ankle sprain, so his draft stock may hinge on his late season performance and his Combine showing.
Marvin Krunch is currently slated as a early to mid-third round player though many pundits have mocked him as high as the late first round.
