Draft Who? A guide to the 2012 DWL Draft Empty Draft Who? A guide to the 2012 DWL Draft

Post by HittinAgenda Fri Sep 02, 2011 10:55 am

OVNN has reported a really good mock, so I won't deviate much at the top end. Here are my picks:

    #1 - Cardinals select Mike Crawford • ROLB • 6'2" • 251
lbs • Montana • Arizona needs to add some explosion back to their offense to
complement Larry Fitzgerald; however, they just can't pass up Crawford's big
play-ability at OLB. • Alternate picks: De'Joshua Marshall , Isaic Strong

    #2 - Seahawks select Jeremy Riggs • QB • 6'1" • 225 lbs
    • Georgia Tech • An absolute no-brainer for the Hawks. • Alternate picks:
Chandler Jones , Brody Harris , Mike Crawford

    #3 - Raiders select Jacorie Joplin • MLB • 6'1" • 245
lbs • SMU • With Coach Jackson planning to move Rolando McClain to OLB, Joplin
is a great choice for this young, althetic defense. • Alternate picks: Brody
Harris , Jake Bucher , Mike Crawford

    #4 - Bills select Marshyl McKenzie • LE • 6'2" • 259
lbs • Penn State • The Bills are a very needy team at multiple positions, so
trading down for additional picks could be the move here. They'll consider taking O.J. Morgan, but opt
for more juice with McKenzie • Alternate picks: Jake Bucher , Brody Harris ,
    Reggie Cooper , De'Joshua Marshall

    #5 - Browns select Jamarian Franklin • CB • 6'1" • 204
lbs • Miami • A couple of years after drafting pro-bowl CB Joe Haden, the
Browns go to the well once more for another stud corner. It's unclear whether this pick will improve
their defense or just give them options once Haden looks for a big paycheck
next offseason. • Alternate picks: De'Joshua Marshall , Jake Bucher , Brody
    Harris

    #6 - Buccaneers select Marcques Dawson • FS • 6'0" •
201 lbs • Vanderbilt • Tampa is hunting for a playmaker to complete their
trademark zone scheme. Dawson will most
assuredly be suiting up in Red and Pewter this season. • Alternate picks: Brody
Harris , Danton Hall , Jacorie Joplin , Marcques Dawson

    #7 - Rams select Tercel Aaron • FS • 6'0" • 203 lbs •
UCF • The Rams need to get better at DB immediately if their going to complete
in the wild west. Tercel may be a dumb
name, but Aaron is one of the best at the position. • Alternate picks: Jake
    Bucher , Marcques Dawson

    #8 - Bengals select Sterlin Freeman • HB • 6'0" • 219
lbs • TCU • Cincy would be ecstatic to pull the draft's best back out of a hat
and they have a good shot at Freeman at #8. • Alternate picks: Brody Harris ,
    Jake Bucher , Antwan Barksdale

    #9 - Lions select De'Joshua Marshall • WR • 6'2" • 231
lbs • UCF • Paring Marshall with Megatron would be a wet dream for Zou's Lions.
    • Alternate picks: Jake Bucher , Brody Harris

    #10 - Giants select Reggie Cooper • LOLB • 6'1" • 233
lbs • Ole Miss • The Giants will take the best available player with their top
pick. Talk in the Big Apple has been
centered on VT QB Chandler Jones, college ball's most exciting player, to
replace Eli Manning in a couple of years. We like the G-men to make the smarter
pick with Ole Miss' Cooper. • Alternate picks: Erik Daniel , Cody Hoppes ,
    Isaic Strong

    #11 - Jaguars select Antwan Barksdale • WR • 5'10" •
178 lbs • Tenn-Chat • No glaring needs on this up and coming squad who could
shock the world by drafting a punter with their top 15 pick. • Alternate picks:
    De'Joshua Marshall , Jase Hayes

    #12 - Chiefs select Jake Bucher • RT • 6'8" • 310 lbs •
Alabama • Bucher is a very strong pick here for KC though management may be
looking for another offensive weapon instead. • Alternate picks: Marshyl
    McKenzie , Trae Spencer

    #13 - Falcons select O.J. Morgan • LE • 6'2" • 315 lbs
    • Georgia • With John Abraham nearing the end of his stellar career, Atlanta
may choose to groom the next gen DE by taking UGA's Morgan. O.J. is clearly a
3-4 DE, but the Falcons may look to shake up their defense with this home grown
pick. • Alternate picks: Marshyl McKenzie , Brody Harris

    #14 - Panthers select Trae Spencer • FS • 6'2" • 213
lbs • Utah • While Cam Newton is the QB du jour for Carolina, some eyes still
linger on the Chandler Jones to be this year's Panthers' QB. • Alternate picks:
Bryce Houston , Tajh Pearson , Trae Spencer

    #15 - Jets select Jorvante Manning • DT • 6'3" • 339
lbs • Rutgers • Rex Ryan has been raving about drafting a big body for the
centerpiece of his Jets' defense. • Alternate picks: Brody Harris , Reggie
    Cooper

    #16 - Packers select Chuckie Murray • CB • 6'2" • 197
lbs • Northwestern • Charles Woodson can't play forever and the Packers still
need to replace Cullen Jenkins, so it'll be a toss up between Murray and O.J.
Morgan. • Alternate picks: O.J. Morgan

    #17 - Redskins select Chandler Jones • QB • 6'3" • 222
lbs • Virginia Tech • Mike Shanahan wouldn't pass up the opportunity to have a
mobile, rocket armed QB, so he'll relentlessly pursue trading up in the draft
if it looks like someone might grab Jones before #17. • Alternate picks: Jake
    Bucher , Brody Harris , O.J. Morgan

    #18 - Chargers select Brion Lawson • CB • 5'11" • 181
lbs • BYU • Jammer's best days are coming to a close, so the Bolts will look to
bolster their secondary with Lawson or Georgia's Jaylon Scott. • Alternate
picks: O.J. Morgan , Shalon Holmes , Jaylon Scott

    #19 - Dolphins select Jaxon Boone • QB • 6'1" • 224 lbs
    • Northwestern • Henne is still not quite the man in Miami. If the top safeties are gone, the the Phins
may move on Jaxon Boone to take over at QB. • Alternate picks: Trae Spencer ,
    Chandler Jones

    #20 - Colts select Brody Harris • RG • 6'5" • 316 lbs •
TCU • Peyton Manning will gladly give up a little more of his paycheck to
further improve the Colts' OL. Brody
Harris has the looks of an All Pro Guard. • Alternate picks: Chandler Jones ,
    Isaic Strong , B.J. Hall

Draft Who? A guide to the 2012 DWL Draft Empty Re: Draft Who? A guide to the 2012 DWL Draft

Post by HittinAgenda Fri Sep 02, 2011 11:34 am

    #21 - 49ers select Algrenon Spencer • DT • 6'3" • 337
lbs • Princeton • It's beef in the Bay! As the Niners draft Mt. Algrenon. •
Alternate picks: Brion Lawson , Trae Spencer

    #22 - Saints select Isaic Strong • LT • 6'6" • 325 lbs
    • Penn State • The Saints still have a Super Bowl capable squad without any big
shoes to fill; however, they'll add some more big shoes with I. Strong if he's
available. • Alternate picks: Jamaal Gibson , Tyree Walker

    #23 - Ravens select Tyree Walker • RT • 6'4" • 332 lbs
    • Rutgers • The Ravens and Tyree Walker are a near perfect fit. • Alternate
picks: Isaic Strong , Algrenon Spencer

    #24 - Titans select Bryan Anthony • WR • 6'2" • 188 lbs
    • Bowling Green St. • New Titans' GM Turke is big on fast WRs, so Anthony seems
an obvious choice as a new weapon in Nashville. • Alternate picks: Erik Daniel
    , Jamaal Gibson

    #25 - Bears select Danton Hall • LG • 6'3" • 326 lbs •
North Carolina • Cutler is a 4000 yd QB behind a good OL and the Bears would
like to see their investment finally net some returns. • Alternate picks: Brody
    Harris , B.J. Hall , Cody Hoppes

    #26 - Steelers select Jaylon Scott• CB • 6'1" • 200 lbs
    • Georgia • Daniel Steele is a tempting prospect to land in the Steel City, but
Scott is the better player at Pitt's position of greatest need. • Alternate
picks: Danton Hall , Isaic Strong , Prince Justice

    #27 - Patriots select Jamaal Gibson • LOLB • 6'2" • 235
lbs • Southern Miss • Gibson lands as yet another great, athletic LB in
Foxboro. • Alternate picks: Danton Hall , Quintin Green

    #28 - Vikings select Prince Justice • CB • 6'2" • 202
lbs • Illinois • A Prince in Minnesota wearing purple? Justice reigns as the
Vikings' top target. • Alternate picks: Timothy Mingley , Jye Boyd

    #29 - Eagles select Shalon Holmes • ROLB • 6'2" • 259
lbs • Arizona St. • Philadelphia needs cash more than it needs a first round
pick, so they may look to sell the #29 spot. • Alternate picks: Timothy Mingley
, Jye Boyd , Jamaal Gibson

    #30 - Texans select Quintin Green • RG • 6'6" • 304 lbs
    • Tulsa • Blasting holes for Arian Foster is a priority if the Texans want to
make it back to the AFC Championship. • Alternate picks: Danton Hall , Jase
    White , Shalon Holmes

    #31 - Cowboys select Timothy Mingley • SS • 6'3" • 212
lbs • Duke • Though the Cowboys came ever so close to their 6th title, they
fell short on a long run by Tim Tebow featuring a nasty trucking of encumbent
SS Gerald Sensabaugh. Tim Mingley or Jye
Boyd would make a significant upgrade at safety. • Alternate picks: Quintin
    Green , Jye Boyd

    #32 - Broncos select B.J. Hall • MLB • 5'11" • 250 lbs
    • Idaho • The Champs may need a new Champ soon, but with most of the top
corners gone already, they could turn some heads by taking B.J. Hall. Denver is solid at LB, but mama always told
me never to pass up a good B.J. • Alternate picks: Jaylon Scott, Prince Justice
    , Bryce Houston

Great work Hittin, very entertaining. And to tell you the truth, at #11 pick, my punter did just retire and the one in this draft looks good, who knows?
